Christmas Party!

December is here, which means the Christmas festivities have arrived. Yesterday we went to my Grandma Moore's house for the annual Christmas Party. It is always fun, and a bit dangerous (yes, I'll explain that in a minute.) It began with dinner, which is always a delicious part of the evening. Next came the pinata. This is the dangerous part that I mentioned earlier. Whoever invented it did not have a family like mine! We all gather into a small area (well, small, considering there are 20 0r 25 people jammed into it.) The pinata is hung from the ceiling, in the very center of the gathering. Then, the young 'uns are given a small, lethal bat, and are blindfolded. Sound like trouble? Oh, it is. It's the scariest part of the Christmas holidays. No matter how many times the children are told not to run in to get the candy until after the swinging stops, they never listen. I fear for their lives even more than I fear for my own! But, in the end they all have lots of candy, and it must be worth it to them!

After the kids' pinata, the adults get to play the bag game. Each person had a paper bag with a gift in it. My Grandma plays the piano, and when she stops, whichever gift you have is yours. I got a fleece blanket, and Tracy got the "dreaded" gift. The ugly dish. My mom got it a couple years ago, and decided to pass it on this year. We were the lucky ones to get it...

Santa came next. Actually, it was him and Mrs. Claus! They were so happy and so fun. We all got to sit on Santa's lap and tell him what we wanted. I said I wanted a Wii, and Tracy said he wanted Guitar Hero to go with my Wii. That would be wonderful! I got some pink golf balls from him on this visit, so hopefully I'll play next year!

That was the end of the party. It was lots of fun, and always something I look forward to during Christmas time. I'm already looking forward to next year!
